In its commitment to improving cybersecurity indicators and digital safety in Qatar, the National Cyber Security Agency is conducting a cybersecurity awareness workshop in February. Aligned with the National Cybersecurity Training Program, the workshop is designed to enhance the cyber and digital capabilities of non-specialized personnel in both the public and private sectors. Participants will have the chance to acquire hands-on experience in addressing diverse cyber threats within an interactive environment.

Through the awareness workshop, the National Cyber Security Agency aims to achieve several key objectives. Foremost among them is the enhancement of awareness regarding cybersecurity concepts among employees, enabling them to navigate the internet and modern technological applications with efficiency, effectiveness, and safety. The workshop addresses the escalating cyber threats in the work environment, encompassing crucial topics related to the cyber landscape. These include fundamental cybersecurity skills, digital safety techniques, and the promotion of technical awareness among the participating employees in the training.

Engineer Abdul Rahman bin Ali Al-Faraidi Al-Malki, Head of the National Cyber Security Agency, has underscored the imperative of increased emphasis on preventive strategies in response to the growing cyber threats. Al-Malki stressed the importance of intensifying efforts in cybersecurity training and awareness. He also highlighted that contemporary global approaches to addressing cyber threats are swiftly moving towards interactive training methods and a focus on emerging cyber risk patterns. The agency's recurrent cybersecurity awareness workshops directly align with this evolving international strategy.

Al-Malki emphasized the rapid evolution of elements in the cyber environment, concurrent with the advancement of cyber threat tools. Consequently, the effectiveness of current cyber skills is expected to diminish in the near future. Al-Malki highlighted that cybersecurity training plays a crucial role as an effective tool in boosting employees' cybersecurity expertise, allowing them to stay abreast of these dynamic and evolving risks.

In her statement, Mrs. Dalal Al-Aqidi, the Director of the National Cyber Excellence Department, emphasized that the awareness workshops constitute a vital component of the National Cyber Security Agency's initiatives to bolster cybersecurity metrics and digital safety on a broader societal scale, particularly within work environments. The primary objective of these workshops is to equip employees with the skills to navigate the cyber landscape securely and efficiently, contributing positively to the stability of the cyber environment in the country. The overarching aim is to elevate the cyber competence of individuals in their personal and professional capacities.

And Al-Aqidi added: The recurring awareness workshops conducted by the agency directly bolster Qatar's leadership in cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives. These workshops play a vital role in establishing stable cybersecurity metrics across institutions, society, and individuals. She reiterated that the agency's approach to addressing cybersecurity risks revolves around the notion that ensuring cybersecurity is a collective responsibility rather than an individual one. This fundamental principle is prominently emphasized in the conduct of the awareness workshops.

On the other hand, the awareness workshops conducted by the National Cyber Security Agency focus on familiarizing participants with fundamental concepts of cybersecurity and essential principles of digital safety. They enlighten participants on safe internet usage practices, introduce the concept of cybercrime and its types, provide preventive measures, and offer insights into various forms of modern cybersecurity threats, their risks, and how to handle them.

The awareness workshops diligently support each trainee, targeting employees across various levels of technical competence, covering different functional and organizational levels. This approach enhances the workshops' ability to achieve the desired impact and goals.

The awareness workshops project is owned by the National Cyber Security Agency, which undertakes the implementation of diverse training and qualification programs. In the event that any entity wishes to provide its employees with high-level cybersecurity training, it is required to contact the National Cyber Security Agency's National Cyber Excellence Management to arrange suitable training schedules.
