National Cybersecurity Agency Organizes Cybersecurity Awareness Workshop in Collaboration with the Workers’ Support and Insurance Fund to Strengthen Digital Safety Among Workers in Qatar

As part of its ongoing efforts to build a cyber-safe society, the National Cybersecurity Agency, represented by the National Cybersecurity Academy, organized a cybersecurity and digital safety awareness workshop in collaboration with the Workers’ Support and Insurance Fund. The workshop, which was held over the first two days of Eid Al-Fitr, welcomed more than 15,000 participants.
The workshop covered various cybersecurity and digital safety topics, focusing on areas most relevant to workers, including personal data protection, safe internet browsing practices, phishing prevention, and more.
This workshop falls under the broader National Digital Safety Initiative, which focuses on educating and raising awareness among workers, one of the key segments targeted by the initiative. This reflects the National Cybersecurity Agency’s commitment to reaching and educating all sectors of society

Ms. Dalal Al-Aqidi, Director of the National Cybersecurity Excellence Department, stated that raising workers’ awareness is a fundamental pillar in strengthening digital safety indicators locally and globally. She emphasized that workers, like all community groups, face various cybersecurity threats in their daily interactions with the internet and technology, both on and off the job. This necessitates providing educational content on digital safety that helps protect them from cyber risks and challenges.
Al-Aqidi added that the National Digital Safety Initiative reflects the Agency’s strategic approach: cybersecurity awareness is a collective effort, with tangible results emerging only when all segments of society are engaged. In line with this, including the workers’ segment in awareness activities was a deliberate and strategic decision.
Ms. Kholoud Al-Kubaisi, Executive Director of the Workers’ Support and Insurance Fund, stated that the workshop reflects Qatar’s commitment to providing holistic support for workers across various sectors. She noted that cybersecurity awareness is a modern and essential field that helps enhance workers’ understanding of digital risks, protect their data, and improve their safety.
Al-Kubaisi emphasized that digital safety is a shared responsibility and that collaboration is vital in building a safer community. She affirmed that the partnership with the National Cybersecurity Agency will yield positive and direct results in enhancing cybersecurity and digital safety indicators among the workers sector in Qatar.
It is worth noting that the National Digital Safety Initiative provides educational cybersecurity content tailored to different societal segments, adopting a diverse set of awareness tools and a methodology aligned with international best practices in this field.
