The National Digital Safety Index is issued semi-annually by the National Cybersecurity Agency to measure the level of awareness of various age groups and professional sectors of digital safety concepts. The index also measures quantitative aspects, including the number of beneficiaries of the agency's programmes, initiatives and projects.
This index is the first of its kind in the State of Qatar, reflecting the reality of individuals' and organizations' digital behavior and their ability to safely interact with cyberspace.
The index derives its importance from its being an effective tool for determining the development of societal awareness of the concepts of cybersecurity and digital safety. It also determines the ability of societies of all classes to safely interact with the Internet and modern technology, and the ability to identify and prevent cyber risks. The index results can identify sectors and groups that require additional focus in awareness-raising efforts, as well as cyber concepts that require further support, thus contributing to enhancing cybersecurity in the country and society.
Objectives of the Index
Methodology of the Index
The methodology of the National Digital Safety Index is based on a scientific and systematic measurement framework designed to transform cybersecurity awareness from a descriptive concept into a measurable numerical value that can be analysed and compared. This methodology derives its importance from its ability to monitor changes over time, accurately determine levels of awareness, and provide decision-makers with objective data that strengthen preventive policies and enhance digital protection for society. The Index relies on a dual approach that combines quantitative analysis of official data with qualitative analysis based on surveys and questionnaires.
