As cyber threats to institutions, societies, and individuals persist in their escalation, the National Cyber Security Agency is actively working to boost awareness of cybersecurity concepts and digital safety. Aligned with the National Cybersecurity Training Program, the agency has scheduled an awareness workshop on cybersecurity for March of this year. The workshop's primary objective is to enhance the cyber capabilities of non-specialized cybersecurity professionals in both the public and private sectors. Through this initiative, trainees will have the opportunity to acquire practical, real-world experience in addressing diverse cyber threats within an interactive environment.

Through this workshop, the National Cyber Security Agency aims to heighten employees' awareness of cybersecurity concepts and provide them with the essential skills for secure and effective internet navigation, encompassing various applications. The workshop is designed to tackle the increasing cyber threats within the workplace environment, covering key topics in the cyber domain. These include fundamental skills related to cybersecurity and digital safety, while also fostering technical awareness among participating employees in the training.

Engineer Abdul Rahman bin Ali Al-Faraidi Al- Malki, head of the National Cyber Security Agency, emphasized the effectiveness of the preventive strategy in cybersecurity compared to its remedial counterpart. This strategy focuses on addressing cyber threats before they escalate into attacks, a principle endorsed by the National Cyber Security Agency. Awareness workshops are a concrete manifestation of the proactive approach to addressing cyber threats.

Al- Malki also stressed that the rapid evolution in cyberspace necessitates a concentration on boosting cyber skills among professionals. Cyber training serves as an effective tool for cultivating employees' cyber expertise, enabling them to stay abreast of these risks.

Mrs. Dalal Al-Aqidi, the Director of the National Cyber Excellence Department, emphasized that awareness workshops are designed to elevate the cyber competence for individuals on both personal and professional levels. The workshops focus on empowering participants to safely and effectively navigate the internet and modern technological applications. Additionally, they aim to acquaint individuals with the essential principles of cybersecurity risk mitigation and provide guidance on responding to online fraud incidents.

She added: "The awareness workshops represent a recurring educational initiative orchestrated by the agency, serving as a complement to its various events, initiatives, and projects, notably the Digital Safety Strategy. She underscored the agency's guiding philosophy in addressing cyber risks, highlighting that ensuring cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, not an individual endeavor, a principle actively reinforced through the awareness workshops."

The awareness workshops are designed to achieve their goals by providing support to each trainee. They strategically focus on employees at different levels of technical proficiency, encompassing various functional and organizational roles. This strategic approach enhances the workshops' effectiveness in attaining the desired impact and objectives.

The awareness workshops project is owned by the National Cyber Security Agency, which undertakes the implementation of diverse training and qualification programs. In the event that any entity wishes to provide its employees with high-level cybersecurity training, it is required to contact the National Cyber Security Agency's National Cyber Excellence Management to arrange suitable training schedules.
