Doha, November 10, 2024 – As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance cybersecurity awareness and advance the educational process in the country, the National Cybersecurity Agency organized an interactive meeting with IT teachers from government schools at Al Wadi Hotel, Msheireb. The meeting aimed to equip teachers with the necessary skills to effectively utilize the learning resources of the Cybersecurity Curriculum Project and to familiarize them with their key roles in its implementation.

The event brought together over 150 teachers from various government schools, highlighting the project's core pillars, including its objectives, implementation mechanisms, and expected outcomes. Participants also discussed the vital role of teachers in promoting cybersecurity awareness among students and explored the responsibilities of students and parents in supporting the initiative's success.

Commenting on the occasion, Mrs. Dalal Al-Aqeedi, Director of National Cyber Excellence at the National Cybersecurity Agency, stated that “teachers are a fundamental pillar in the execution of this project, serving as the link between students and parents. Their deep understanding of the project’s objectives and responsibilities is crucial in ensuring its success and achieving the desired impact."

Al-Aqeedi further emphasized that "the agency has been committed to providing teachers with interactive educational tools and advanced learning resources that go beyond traditional curricula. Additionally, a comprehensive teacher’s guide has been made available to assist educators in delivering cybersecurity content and addressing students' inquiries."

This meeting builds upon the agency’s previous efforts to engage educators across various sectors. Last month, a similar event was held, bringing together over 200 teachers from private schools to reinforce their role in raising cybersecurity awareness among students and enhancing their ability to interact safely with digital content.

Notably, the Cybersecurity Curriculum Project delivers a cutting-edge educational program covering cybersecurity and digital safety. The project is designed to provide awareness content tailored to students across different educational stages based on their cognitive levels.

To date, the project has been successfully implemented in 214 government schools, 178 private schools, 39 expatriate community schools, and two schools for students with special needs, reaching over 280,000 students. With the start of the current academic year, the scope of the project has expanded to include a greater number of schools, further strengthening students’ digital awareness, and fostering a cybersecurity-conscious educational environment.
